Water is essential part of our life. Our body needs 7 to 8 glasses of water daily. Besides drinking we need it for other purposes as well like bathing and cooking. As we bath our hairs come in direct contact with water. That why if some one faces the problem of hair falls, he/she blames water for it? It is very unfortunate that pure water is not available to every person. Majority of people have excess to impure water. Water impurities cause many skin problems as well as hairs problems.

To blame only water for hair falling is wrong. There are many other causes of hairs falling including imbalance hormones. But as we know that impure water contains many chemicals which are not good for our hairs so we can say that impure water may be another reason of your hair loss. Scientific research does not show any clear evidence that impurities cause hair loss but chemicals which are present in water may cause hair loss and affects hair in other ways as well.

Which chemicals cause hair loss?
Selenium is element which can affect hairs. This element gets into water through petroleum refineries and mine discharge. People who reside near industrial area can affect by this mineral easily.

Another element which causes hair loss is mercury. The main source of mercury is seafood. If you don't take seafood then you should test your water for mercury. Mercury does not only affect your hairs but it affects your health as well. If you feel nauseas, weak spells, dizzy spells, tingling sensation in hands and feet, headaches and fatigue then your tap water is affected with mercury.

If your water is traveling from old pipes to the shower head then there is a chance that your water is affected with lead poisoning which causes hair loss. Some other elements also cause hair loss like zinc, arsenic, thallium and aluminum. These elements can get into your water by different sources and we cannot stop them.

Well water contains higher concentration of heavy metal then city water. Well water normally contains mercury and copper, which is another culprit of hair loss. Other elements can enter into water from different sources which are not easy to track. Either you wash your hair or drink; it will affect your body system in a bad manner.

Precautions:
If you have shifted from one place to another and notice a sudden hair loss then there will be chance that your water is affecting your hairs. To avoid these impurities you can use home water filtration system to purify your water.

If you are suffering from serious hair loss then you should consult a dermatologist, he will test your hairs and find out the reason behind our hair loss. There are certain hair loss treatment options available which can stop your hairs falling.
