What are female hair loss causes that women should know about? Nowadays, it seems that more and more women are having problems with loss of hair. So what are the things that lead to baldness?

Baldness in women is not that really surprising nowadays. For one, there are now different hair treatments that most women undergo: perm, hair color, rebond, etc. And some or most of these treatments contain chemicals that can hurt the scalp. To understand baldness, women need to understand how the hair grows.

One important thing that women should know is that it is natural for hair to fall off. This is part of the growth of hair. When you see your hair falling, this should not worry you too much as this means that new hair will grow in its place. But when does the process change? Or when should women start worrying when their hair starts falling off?

Bear in mind that it is not normal if your hair begins to fall out throughout the scalp, which is usually due to changes in the normal hair cycle. This is called stress alopecia, which is caused by stresses to the hair follicles, which leads to a massive fall out of the hair. Some stressors can be hormonal change, after birth of a baby, discontinued use of birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy, high fever, acute trauma, severe dieting, under active or overactive thyroid, etc. Stressors are mostly events that have an effect on hormones. Fallen hairs with clubbed shafts usually characterize this type of hair loss.

As stated earlier, other female hair loss causes are dyes, hair treatment, and certain hairstyles. For example, pulling the hair tightly in a ponytail or hair extensions, and tight braiding can also lead to hair loss. This type of hair loss is called traction alopecia and this can lead to permanent damage to the hair follicle if it is not treated.

There is autoimmune disease baldness called alopecia areata. This is a serious type of baldness as this can lead to total loss of hair on the head or even complete baldness, not only on the head, but also on the face like eyebrows and eyelashes. This is usually due to the white blood cells attacking the cells in the hair follicles.

With these different types of female hair loss causes, it is no wonder that most women are worried. But thankfully, there is a treatment for hair loss. And, the best thing is that the treatment is made especially for women.
